I played at Alpharetta Country Club last Sunday afternoon on a perfect, but chilly, Fall day. My son was with me and we were playing in a post-season father son scramble with a bunch of other guys from Hopewell Baseball Association. What better way to wind up baseball season than with a little golf? Amazing how similar a golf swing is to a baseball swing!
While at the course, I learned that members get a discount to play at nearby Woodmont Golf Club. Members pay $25 during the week and $50 after 1PM on the weekends. This is because Affiniti Golf Partners is now managing both properties. Affiniti, based in Alpharetta, purchased ACC this summer and has spent $500k updating the facilities. It is not lavish, but it is a functional place where you can enjoy family golf and activities.
The course was originally a 9-hole course, which was later expanded to 18. The greens were rolling very nicely the day we played, spiffed up with their new rye grass for the winter.
Alpharetta Country Club is located near Freemanville Road and Dinsmore Road in the new City of Milton. Many builders in the area are also offering memberships to ACC as an amenity package for their homes that don’t have swim and tennis.
